Prenatal Diagnosis is diagnosing abnormalities while the baby is still inside the uterus. Prenatal Diagnosis can be made by both invasive and noninvasive testing. There are the following three types of prenatal diagnosis available:

Termination of Affected Pregnancy
Islam provides the option of terminating an affected pregnancy. According to a Pakistani Fatwa, the soul comes into the body of the fetus/baby at 120 days of gestation (17 weeks of pregnancy) and if any severe abnormality is detected in the fetus, termination is allowed before 120 days of gestation. Similar fatwas are also given in other Muslim countries such as Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Egypt and Iran.
